"ZCP Green Heroes" encourages students, as future leaders of our community, to participate in various carbon reduction activities, understand the importance of sustainable development and carbon neutrality, contributing to saving our planet.
Landscaping, Microclimate and Water Management Systems
Eco-toilets are all equipped with low-flow sanitaryware and greywater recycling systems. One of the toilets has blackwater recycling treatment and waterless urinal. Native plants together with stormwater harvesting and water-efficient irrigation system have been used to reduce water consumption for irrigation. In addition, an artificial wetland with subsurface flow is integrated to treat greywater / stormwater using the roots of the plants.

Green Coverage
47% of the site is covered by greenery which helps lower the air temperature by up to 1°C.

Urban Native Woodland
The planted urban native woodland area of approximately 2,000m2 includes 135 native trees of over 40 different species and a diversity of native shrubs, providing food and shelter to attract native wildlife to the city.

Green Walls
Rapidly growing species are selected. The green walls are also resistant to strong wind and can be easily replaced.

Constructed Wetland
Rainwater from sloped roof drips towards the constructed wetland which filters the water through the roots of plants before passing to the recycled water system.

Microclimate Monitoring Stations
Four on-site microclimate monitoring stations gather information on solar, wind, temperature and humidity to coordinate microclimate conditions with desired comfort for interior space.
